Novak Djokovic and Olga Danilovi\u0107 lost at the start of the mixed doubles competition at the US Open to Daniil Medvedev and Mirra Andreeva, with scores of 4:2, 5:3.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fans of Novak Djokovic and Olga Danilovi\u0107 could barely wait to watch their favorites on the court, but they didn’t stay on it for long. The Serbian pair lost to the Russian doubles team of Daniil Medvedev and Mirra Andreeva with scores of 4:2, 5:3 at the start of the US Open in mixed doubles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Novak only arrived in the Big Apple on Monday after a five-week break, and it was not expected that he would play at full throttle. The Russian pair took advantage of his still-unpreparedness to play at a high level after a long break and won. Unfortunately, Olga was not at a high level; she often made mistakes and will long remember the two double faults she made at 3:1 in the second set when she was serving for that part of the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first set was uncertain until 2:2, and then the Russian combination made a break. Danilovi\u0107 was poor at the net in this part of the game, sending several smashes into the net and making several mistakes at the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 2:2, the Russians reached 0:40; the Serbian combination managed to come back to 40:40, but in the end, Mirra Andreeva showed why she is the future of tennis. She was not afraid and played excellently, and Medvedev only had to place the ball between Nole and Olga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, then two double faults from Olga Danilovi\u0107 occurred, from which neither she nor the Serbian team could recover, which the Russians took advantage of and made a complete comeback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We should not draw conclusions about Novak’s form based on this match, but it is certain that \u0110okovi\u0107 will have to train a lot before the start of the singles tournament to shake the rust off his racket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the quarterfinals of the doubles, Medvedev and Andreeva will play against Jessica Pegula and Jack Draper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
