The ATP tournament that was held in Belgrade in previous years will be on the program in Athens this year from November 2 to 8, the ATP announced.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the weekend, information appeared that the ATP tournament would not be held in Belgrade this year, and this has now been confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Immediately after the Serbia Open announced that the tournament would not be organized in Belgrade, the ATP announced and confirmed that tennis would be played in Athens this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is what the Greeks said after getting the license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The ATP 250 tournament in Greece is organized by an experienced team that is behind the nine previous international tournaments in Belgrade. This new project builds on that tradition, and preparations are already well underway to ensure a world-class tennis event in the historic city of Athens,” the ATP announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Novak had already met with Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the prime minister of Greece, on June 15 while visiting Athens, when it was mentioned as a possibility that he and his family could move to this city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, it is said that \u0110okovi\u0107’s visit to Athens in June was precisely to examine the possibility of organizing a tournament in Greece, and that the main goal was to move the Belgrade tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tournament will be organized in the capital’s OAKA arena, where the Panathinaikos basketball players play, the ATP has now confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
