Veton Elshani, Deputy Commander of the North region police in Kosovo and Metohija, confirmed that Igor Popovi\u0107 has been detained for up to 48 hours.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Igor Popovi\u0107, Assistant Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, responsible for legal affairs, was detained yesterday at the Brnjak administrative crossing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, Igor Popovi\u0107 attended a memorial service in Orahovac. Veton Elshani, Deputy Commander of the North region police in Kosovo and Metohija, confirmed today that Popovi\u0107 has been ordered to be detained for up to 48 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Popovi\u0107 was in Orahovac yesterday to mark the anniversary of the suffering of Serbs from the Orahovac region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced that Popovi\u0107 was detained due to his statement after the memorial service, merely because he called by their true name those who killed 47 Serbs and Roma and kidnapped over a hundred innocent people in July 1998.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Director of the Office, Petar Petkovi\u0107, informed Brussels about the detention of his associate and demanded his immediate release, as well as the protection of missions operating in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
