Serbian basketball veterans have won the gold medal<\/strong> at the FIBA Basketball World Cup for players over 50<\/strong>, held in Switzerland. The Serbian national team achieved a perfect record of five victories<\/strong>, defeating Italy 72:58<\/strong> in the final match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Players and Tournament Performance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The most efficient player in the final was Ilija Jovi\u0107<\/strong>, father of national team player Nikola Jovi\u0107 and a member of the Crvena zvezda Basketball Club Management Board. He scored 25 points<\/strong>, including five three-pointers. Alongside him, Milo\u0161 Drobnjak<\/strong> added 15 points, and Zoran Stojnovi\u0107<\/strong> contributed 11. En route to the final, Serbia defeated Greece (65:53), Poland (64:47), and Brazil (74:67).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Serbian M50+ team consisted of: Zoran Maksimovi\u0107, Milo\u0161 Drobnjak, Lazar Radulovi\u0107, Ivan \u0110akovi\u0107, Zoran Stojnovi\u0107, Vladimir Sarajli\u0107, Ilija Jovi\u0107, Aleksandar Radenkovi\u0107, Dragan Petrovi\u0107, and Dejan Kijanovi\u0107. The team’s most efficient player throughout the tournament was Radenkovi\u0107, averaging 17.8 points per game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The championship was played in the Swiss cities of Bellinzona, Locarno, and Lugano, and was organized as part of the FIMBA veterans’ competition. Another Serbian team, Sirmium Gladiators, was defeated in their first match by Costa Rica (45:68).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
