President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik commented on the decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to lift his detention, emphasizing that the decision is significant not only for him but also for all those who, as he stated, tried to destabilize the situation in BiH.1<\/sup><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement for RTRS, Dodik stressed that the lifting of his detention also means the lifting of the travel ban from BiH, as well as freedom of movement within the country. “I think this is an important matter not only for me personally but also for all ill-wishers who wanted destabilization and to create additional problems in BiH through this case,” Dodik said. According to him, he voluntarily agreed to report to the BiH Court, and after an hour and a half, he received a decision on the lifting of his detention, as well as the cancellation of the warrant for his arrest both domestically and abroad. Dodik emphasized that, despite this decision, the case is still not closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Of course, it’s a case that will still last,” Dodik added, noting that he will continue to report to the Lakta\u0161i police station every 15 days. “I don’t feel triumphant, but rather tired of it all,” Dodik concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that this step is significant for him because it means the return of his freedom of movement. The BiH Court yesterday accepted the BiH Prosecutor’s Office’s proposal to lift Dodik’s detention, explaining that the reasons for which detention was previously ordered no longer existed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the arrest warrant issued by the BiH Court for Dodik was also revoked. Detention had been ordered due to reasonable suspicion that Dodik had committed the criminal offense of “attack on the constitutional order,” reports Tanjug.2<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n
