A heinous murder occurred in Crvenka on June 19, when the suspect, A. L. (45), inflicted severe head injuries with a blunt object upon Du\u0161an V. (63), who soon died from his wounds. Police located and arrested the suspect yesterday; he will be questioned tomorrow at the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Sombor.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to unofficial information, the suspect entered the victim’s house and inflicted multiple blows to his head, after which he fled the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014It is suspected that the suspect entered Du\u0161an’s house, beat him to death, and then fled \u2014 states a source familiar with the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man’s body was found by neighbors who immediately notified the police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to available information, Du\u0161an was a disabled person, without both legs, and robbery is cited as a possible motive for the murder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suspect is charged with aggravated murder for gain, committed in a perfidious manner, which carries a sentence of life imprisonment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MUP Issued a Statement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Criminal Police Directorate, Crime Suppression Service, in cooperation with police officers of the Sombor Police Department, have shed light on the aggravated murder committed against a sixty-year-old man from Crvenka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through intensive operational work and in cooperation with the competent prosecutor’s office, the police identified and arrested A. L. on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of aggravated murder. He is suspected of inflicting multiple blows with a blunt object to the head of the victim, in his house in Crvenka, causing injuries from which the injured man died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suspect has been detained for up to 48 hours and will be brought, along with a criminal complaint, to the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Sombor for further jurisdiction. The police continue to work with the suspect to determine all circumstances of this event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
