The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that the decision of the Police Administration for the City of Belgrade, which ordered Dr. Arien Stojanovi\u0107 Ivkovi\u0107 to leave the territory of Serbia, has been annulled.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They remind that on April 8 this year, the Police Administration for the City of Belgrade issued a decision terminating the right of Croatian citizen Arien Stojanovi\u0107 Ivkovi\u0107 to temporary residence in Serbia, prohibiting her entry into Serbia, and ordering her to leave the country within seven days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stojanovi\u0107 Ivkovi\u0107, as reported by N1, filed an appeal three days later, stating that she completed her medical studies in Serbia, that she is married to a Serbian citizen and they have a child together, and that she has no criminal or misdemeanor convictions. Her attorney pointed out that the decision did not contain specific reasons for its adoption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MUP states that they contacted the state authority responsible for the security of the Republic of Serbia, with a request to re-verify whether Stojanovi\u0107 Ivkovi\u0107’s stay still posed an “unacceptable security risk.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They replied that “due to new information and changed circumstances, there are no longer reasons for revoking the decision on the right to temporary residence, nor for imposing a one-year entry ban into Serbia.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a reminder, Arien Stojanovi\u0107 Ivkovi\u0107 graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade, where she also got a job, and married a Serbian citizen with whom she has a young child. She had lived in the Serbian capital for over ten years and had no problems until now. However, on April 8, she was summoned to the Administration for Foreigners, where she was served with a decision to revoke her temporary residence and ban her entry into the country for one year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Something like this has never happened in Serbia before. Expelling a woman with a child from the country because of an Instagram post \u2013 that has never happened until now,” Stojanovi\u0107 Ivkovi\u0107 stated after receiving the news of her expulsion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
