Serbian racing driver Milo\u0161 Pavlovi\u0107 achieved a very important victory in the endurance race in Monza, which was part of the Italian GT Championship.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pavlovi\u0107, in a team with German Spengler and Thai Lomahadtaya, triumphed in his class, and the Star Performance Team also achieved fifth place overall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second racing weekend within the Italian GT Endurance Championship was marked by intense heat on the legendary track, with asphalt temperatures exceeding 50 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The high temperatures seemed to suit the preparation of the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo 2 car, so a drop in temperature on Saturday afternoon during qualifications disrupted the team’s plans for a high starting position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this reason, Pavlovi\u0107 started Sunday’s three-hour race from 16th place, but the tropical Sunday in Monza increased the chances for a better final placement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It turned out that already after Milo\u0161’s first stint, the chance for a podium finish further increased, given that the Serbian racing driver handed over the Huracan with number 33 to his Thai colleague as the eighth-placed car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As many as 40 crews participated in the race across four classes, and several early accidents with a safety car on the track helped the Star Performance Team solidify its position at the top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When, after the first hour, the closest rival in the class was already a full lap behind, it was only necessary to bring the race to a routine close, without unnecessary risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Had Spengler first, and then Pavlovi\u0107 in the last change, pushed harder, they might have even reached the overall podium, but a class victory was a priority due to bad luck in the previous race in Misano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milo\u0161’s crossing the finish line signaled the start of a big celebration for the team, whose cars are prepared by the Italian ASR team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several thousand spectators gathered below the famous winner’s podium in Monza, and the champagne celebration officially marked the return of championship ambitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We really needed this result, considering that we had bad luck in the first race of the season in this championship. I made a mistake then, something that hadn’t happened for years, and to be honest, from that race until Sunday afternoon in Monza, I went through hell, because it’s never nice when you make a mistake that affects the whole team. We’ve corrected that now and are back on track. Now we can continue the fight in the championship with a positive rhythm!” stated Pavlovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next endurance race within the Italian GT Championship is scheduled for early August, but there is no break for Pavlovi\u0107, as he will compete on another legendary track next weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time, it’s a racing weekend in Belgium, at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, where two races are held as part of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo competition. Milo\u0161 will be competing with Italian Alessio Ruffini, forming the ASR Racing Team crew together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
