Serbian kayaking has a new European senior champion, as the young Strahinja Dragosavljevi\u0107 crossed the finish line fastest in the K1-500 discipline this morning!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make the success even more grandiose, although this sport has brought us joy many times throughout history, the continental ruler is only 18 years old and is a fresh face in the adult competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He finished the race in 34.138 seconds. The silver medal went to Portugal’s Messias Baptista (34.174 s), while Spain’s Carlos Arevalo won the bronze (34.554 s).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It sounds unbelievable, but it’s a truth to make the whole country proud: this was only his third appearance at the highest level. And he has already managed to demonstrate his immense talent, thanks to which he was the junior European champion in 2022 and 2024. Also, he recently triumphed at the World Cup in Szeged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today he was probably additionally inspired by the result of his compatriot Milica Novakovi\u0107, as our experienced kayaker won her second bronze medal at the competition in Ra\u010dice, Czech Republic, shortly before him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Serbian national kayaker, Milica Novakovi\u0107, is excelling at this year’s European Championship in Ra\u010dice. So much so that she won a bronze medal on the second day of the weekend at the biggest continental competition in the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was third this morning at the end of the K1 500 race, having paddled the course in 1:49.939.
The gold medal was won by Zs\u00f3ka Csik\u00f3s from Hungary (1:47.902), while the silver went to Poland’s Anna Pu\u0142awska (1:48.636).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day before, Novakovi\u0107 also took a medal of the same shine in the K1 200-meter discipline, as an overture to another extraordinary result in the successful career of our multiple Olympian and winner of many other medals at major competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
