The Higher Court in Zaje\u010dar has accepted the appeal filed by the electoral list “Promena u koju verujemo” (Change We Believe In) and issued a ruling that annuls the decision of the City Electoral Commission of Zaje\u010dar from June 14 of this year, which had rejected 71 objections from that list.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ruling, as reported by N1<\/strong>, means that the City Electoral Commission will have to re-decide on the objections<\/strong> submitted by the “Promena u koju verujemo” list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the date of the ruling’s publication, the City Electoral Commission has 10 days to rule on the objections<\/strong>. If the Zaje\u010dar City Electoral Commission rejects the objections from “Promena u koju verujemo” again, there is once again a right to appeal to the court. In that case, the final decision will be made by the Higher Court in Zaje\u010dar. We remind you that the appeal was submitted due to the incorrect application of substantive law. As stated in the explanation, the court found the appeal to be timely, permissible, and submitted by an authorized person. The appeal specifically relates to the opposition list’s objection regarding irregularities at polling station number 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the irregularities cited in the objection are: vehicles with SNS<\/strong> activists noted outside the polling station keeping records of voters, including possession of a parallel voter list extract; a group observed bribing voters<\/strong>, offering them money, alcohol, and food packages in exchange for their votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The objection also stated that in several cases, the secrecy of voting was violated<\/strong>, ballots were photographed, a UV lamp was not used, and voting was allowed for people who were registered on the voter list but did not have a registered permanent residence, only a temporary one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To recall, the “Promena u koje verujemo” list filed 71 objections, and according to the commission president Nenad Dinulovi\u0107, these were dismissed due to formal-legal deficiencies, while seven objections from “Ujedinjeni za spas Zaje\u010dara” (United for the Salvation of Zaje\u010dar) were rejected as unfounded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to preliminary results of the local elections held on June 8 in Zaje\u010dar, the Serbian Progressive Party list “Ne damo Srbiju \u2013 Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107” (We Don’t Give Up Serbia \u2013 Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107) won the most votes, specifically 47.13 percent of votes or 27 mandates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Promena u koju verujemo” list received 19 mandates, 10,312 votes or 34.23 percent, and the “Ujedinjeni za spas Zaje\u010dara” list received 2,284 votes or 7.58 percent and four mandates. The Socialist Party of Serbia did not cross the electoral threshold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
