Kosovo Minister for Communities and Returns Nenad Ra\u0161i\u0107 and Leposavi\u0107 Mayor Lulzim Hetemi agreed at a meeting with members of seventeen families from Le\u0161ak, whose houses are located on land belonging to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, that there will be no forced evictions.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“A decision by the Ministry of Internal Affairs ordered the removal of structures built on the land of the Kosovo Ministry of Internal Affairs, where 17 families currently live. Although there was concern in the previous period due to the announced eviction, today the Minister for Communities and Returns Nenad Ra\u0161i\u0107 and the Mayor of Leposavi\u0107 Lulzim Hetemi agreed that there will be no forced eviction from their homes for these 17 families who have lived at that location for two decades and whose houses are now the subject of dispute,” the Ministry for Communities and Returns stated in a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ra\u0161i\u0107 emphasized that the land on which the houses are located is undeniably owned by the Kosovo Ministry of Internal Affairs, but that all legal and administrative measures will be taken to reach a solution without endangering any party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The most important thing is that there will be no forced eviction and that our citizens do not feel existentially threatened, and we will not abandon them; instead, we will strive to settle them,” said Minister Ra\u0161i\u0107, as reported by Radio Kim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
