Videos of the plane&#8217;s explosion itself and parts of the wreckage protruding from buildings have appeared on social media.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indian media report that the plane crashed in a densely populated area of Ahmedabad in the west of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The plane took off at 1:38 AM local time and crashed five minutes later, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation announced. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot issued a distress call to air traffic control, which was the last communication from the plane to the ground, the Directorate stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Videos published on social media show the plane flying low over residential buildings.
