When Stjepan Hauser was very young, his friends in rock-punk Pula teased him because he played a “girly instrument.” Instead of picking up a guitar or drums and following the path of KUD Idijoti or Atomci, young Hauser embraced the cello and classical music.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He endured, endured, and then he got back at those who teased him by becoming a world rock star with that same “feminized” instrument in his hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rest is legend.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He and his companion Luka \u0160uli\u0107, with whom he formed the duo 2Cellos, were noticed by the legendary Elton John, who invited them to be part of his band and go on tour with him. When they returned from the tour, they were already stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their big world tours followed, collaborations with Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Steven Tyler from Aerosmith, Andrea Bocelli, Oliver Dragojevi\u0107, George Michael\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They played for American presidents, the British Queen, the global elite in “holes” like the Royal Albert Hall, Madison Square Garden, the Sydney Opera\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then Hauser continued solo, creating a serious show with a seriously good band that we had the opportunity to see and hear last night at the iconic Chicago Theatre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What the audience in Chicago didn’t hear was Hauser singing “Tamo daleko,” a song with which he recently represented Serbia in his project Music Unites The World, which we will talk about in this interview\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And not just about it, but also about his collaborations with great world musicians, unfulfilled wishes, encounters with our people around the world, and everything that has marked his life since the day he first picked up an instrument. A “girly instrument” from which he created a miracle!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
