The semi-final match ended with a score of 2:1 (6:7, 6:3, 7:5), after two hours and 47 minutes of play.

Aleksandra and Anna started the match brilliantly, breaking already in the first game, which they confirmed in the next one to take a 2:0 lead. However, Ulrikke and Eri managed to come back very quickly and broke the Serbian-Kazakhstani doubles’ serve in the sixth game, leveling the score at 3:3. Subsequently, Krunić and Danilina missed a break point at 4:4, which was the only one until the end of the set, so it had to be decided in a tie-break. The decisive game of the first set went to the Norwegian and Japanese pair, who won it 7:5.

Riding the momentum of winning the first set tie-break, Eikeri and Hozumi immediately broke at the start of the second, but Krunić and Danilina responded instantly with a re-break to make it 1:1. This was followed by a service game for Aleksandra and Anna to love, which they followed up with a break for 3:1. After that, two more lost serves followed, making the score 4:2 for the Serbian and Kazakhstani players. Until the end of the second set, the tennis players routinely held their serves, so Krunić and her partner took that part of the game 6:3 and sent the match into a third set.

The Norwegian and Japanese pair opened the decisive set with a confident service game, after which they broke the Serbian and Kazakhstani duo’s serve, taking a 2:0 lead. However, a re-break immediately followed, and then another good game for our representative and her teammate, making the score 2:2 in the third set. Several easy service games followed, and Ulrikke and Eri led 4:3, then had two break points in the next game, which they failed to convert. Aleksandra and Anna managed to escape and equalize at 4:4. This was followed by two confident service games, and then, to the delight of Serbian and Kazakhstani fans, a break occurred, giving Krunić and Danilina a 6:5 lead.

In the next game, on Danilina’s serve, the Serbian and Kazakhstani pair confirmed their place in the grand final.

MORE TOPICS:

NAZI SYMBOL REMOVED FROM NIŠ FORTRESS: “I could not allow the swastika to stand on the Stambol gate!”

NO RECONCILIATION AFTER ALL: Trump refuses to speak with Musk, claims billionaire has lost his mind!

CONTROVERSIAL DECISION ANNULLED: Croatian citizen Nikola Francetić’s entry and stay ban in Serbia lifted!

Source: Sportal, Photo: Gao Jing / Xinhua News / Profimedia

Serbian tennis player Aleksandra Krunić and her partner Anna Danilina from Kazakhstan have qualified for the grand final of Roland Garros in the women’s doubles competition.
