The greatest tennis player of all time, Novak \u0110okovi\u0107, was stopped tonight in the Roland Garros semi-finals, having been defeated by Italy’s Jannik Sinner. Unfortunately, he will not be fighting for the title on Sunday against Carlos Alcaraz; instead, the young man from the Azure country will \u2013 0:3 (4:6, 5:7, 6:7).<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the match, Jannik Sinner delivered a truly gentlemanly speech in which he particularly praised Novak \u0110okovi\u0107. He described the Serbian ace with great admiration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Yes, well, first of all, thank you all for coming here, for supporting us. This was a special match for me to play in the Roland Garros semi-finals against Novak; it’s incredible. I played my best tennis, which makes me happy. He is a true inspiration for all of us, for all young players, and I wish him all the best for the rest of the season. We are all honored that we can still watch him in tennis,” Sinner said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sinner continued almost in the same breath, emphasizing that for him, Novak \u0110okovi\u0107 is the greatest player in the history of tennis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s very difficult; he has achieved so much. He is the best tennis player in history, it’s incredible\u2026 Of course, I tried not to think about it. I went out on the court, you know what’s across the net, I tried to play as best as possible, to prepare for such a situation. I knew it would be tough, looking at our previous encounters, we are close. I am in a major final for the first time here.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He says he will give himself a little rest before the grand final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
