Jugoslav Tadi\u0107, a member of an informal group of citizens supporting student protests from Geneva, Lausanne, and surrounding French cities, completed his endeavor today, returning from a four-day expedition towards Mont Blanc.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jugoslav embarked on the journey to conquer Western Europe’s highest peak on Saturday. Although he had never engaged in mountaineering, his aim with this action was to convey that “freedom is not given as a gift, but must be conquered.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to extremely poor weather conditions \u2013 snow, wind, and fog \u2013 Jugoslav was unable to reach the very summit, but on June 3, 2025, at the highest accessible point on the way to Mont Blanc, at an altitude of 3,835 meters, he unfurled the Serbian flag, university flags, and a banner of support for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I am sad because I didn’t succeed, and I wanted it so much, I gave my heart, I thought of all of you in Geneva, as well as the people in Serbia who are fighting for the same cause. Nature teaches us certain things and laws that sometimes don’t go our way, and they are hard to accept, it was so close, yet so far \u2013 six hours to go and come back but simply that window didn’t appear. There were about 20 of us from all over the world, Denmark, China, Wales, England\u2026 for some, this was their second unsuccessful attempt\u2026 it’s a bit depressing because I had and felt even greater responsibility\u2026. I’m sorry\u2026. thank you all for all the support given!”, Jugoslav said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
