The secrecy has only deepened the mystery surrounding the <strong>SUDDEN RESIGNATION OF THE DEAN OF THE FACULTY OF LAW<\/strong> shortly after the closed-door talks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, pressure on the academic community is escalating, with frequent <strong>THREATS AND DEMANDS<\/strong> aimed at restoring \u201cnormal\u201d classes amid the ongoing <strong>STUDENT BLOCKADES<\/strong>, now entering their <strong>SIXTH MONTH<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Behind the closed doors of the Government building, the Prime Minister met with the university\u2019s top officials \u2014 including the rector, the vice-rector for education, and four deans \u2014 but <strong>NOTHING HAS BEEN DISCLOSED<\/strong> about the content of their discussion. Even <strong>SNS party leader Milo\u0161 Vu\u010devi\u0107<\/strong> remained vague, simply stating that \u201cevery conversation is a new chance to find a solution,\u201d while urging the Rector\u2019s Council to \u201cget out of the spiral of collapse.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But for students maintaining the blockade, the question remains: <strong>How can there be a solution if the government refuses to meet their demands?<\/strong> Instead of offering dialogue, they say, authorities have intensified <strong>TACTICS OF INTIMIDATION<\/strong> targeting students, faculty, and university leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve seen the resignation of the Law School dean, we\u2019re facing threats from several faculties \u2014 even worse outside of Belgrade,\u201d said <strong>Tadija Marinkovi\u0107<\/strong>, a student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade. \u201cThey\u2019re telling us we\u2019ll face steep fines, professors will be punished, and we might even lose our spots in dorms, our scholarships, or face problems transferring to other universities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When asked whether these warnings are tied to continuing the blockade, Marinkovi\u0107 replied: <strong>\u201cYes \u2014 and potentially losing our BUDGET STATUS, DORM ROOMS, AND SCHOLARSHIPS.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:#FFFFFF;color:#d21414\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><mark style=\"background-color:#FFFFFF;color:#d21414\" class=\"has-inline-color\">FIND OUT MORE: <\/mark><\/mark><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fserbiantimes%2Fposts%2Fpfbid02DVcoAEW9xAkmq4KQX3rNxYbz6LNod7upreW7YR6a6R11a54RYt1Pbn6TkPCYEXHsl&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"576\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <strong>Dr. Oliver Stojkovi\u0107<\/strong>, professor at the Faculty of Medicine, a <strong>\u201cFAKE RETURN TO CLASSES\u201d<\/strong> is being pushed through a vaguely defined \u201chybrid\u201d model \u2014 essentially <strong>FORCED ONLINE TEACHING<\/strong>, which he says violates university statutes and accreditation standards. \u201cThis pressure is coming directly from above, aimed at the deans,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the <strong>Dean and entire leadership of the Law Faculty resigned<\/strong> shortly after the government meeting, without offering any explanation. Their departure was swiftly followed by <strong>FALSE TABLOID REPORTS<\/strong> claiming similar resignations at the Faculty of Medicine, which the administration has denied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Still, President <strong>Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107<\/strong> dismissed the issue, implying deeper tensions at the universities: \u201cI\u2019m sure the resignations at the Law and Medical faculties are for different reasons. At the Medical Faculty, many honorable professors can no longer withstand the dean\u2019s oppression. And as you\u2019ve seen, four faculties in Novi Sad refused to align with the statement on police brutality \u2014 the problems in the \u2018student paradise\u2019 are only beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Professor Milena Dragi\u0107evi\u0107 \u0160e\u0161i\u0107<\/strong> disagrees, arguing that all of this could have been avoided if the government had <strong>FULFILLED STUDENT DEMANDS<\/strong>. \u201cThe government is now threatening entire faculties. Many deans may believe that stepping down could protect their institutions from retaliation \u2014 from privatization or sabotage. But we in the academic world are unfortunately used to this kind of blackmail,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>PRESSURE IS MOUNTING<\/strong>. According to sources from <strong>N1<\/strong>, professors across Serbia are under growing coercion to <strong>START ONLINE CLASSES ON MAY 5<\/strong>. Coincidentally, that same day marks the beginning of a <strong>STRIKE AT THE FACULTY OF MEDICINE<\/strong>, seen by some as a <strong>TOOL TO UNDERMINE THE BLOCKADES<\/strong> and reassert control over university spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s behind the silence?
