(VIDEO)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>One person is dead and 11 others wounded after a gunman opened fire in the middle of a popular tourist spot in Myrtle Beach on Saturday night, according to law enforcement officials.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Myrtle Beach Police Department shared that the shooting happened just before midnight on Saturday, in the heart of the city&#8217;s famed entertainment district, when officers noticed a &#8220;disturbance involving multiple individuals.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the altercation, officers reported that a person opened fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;At that time, based on the immediate threat, one of our officers responded by discharging their firearm,&#8221; officials shared in an update on their department&#8217;s Facebook page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"SLED investigating officer-involved shooting in Myrtle Beach\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SkU9CcSy5fw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Police said 11 individuals were injured and are receiving medical treatment.
