The Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Natalija Jovanovi\u0107<\/strong>, was attacked with a knife by a woman in Ni\u0161<\/strong>. The attacker was later taken into custody by the police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This information was first reported by N1<\/strong>, while Nova.rs<\/strong> confirmed that Jovanovi\u0107 was transported by an ambulance<\/strong> and is currently on her way to the Emergency Center<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eyewitness Accounts<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Eyewitnesses told N1<\/strong> that the attacker was a woman<\/strong> and that she was heard threatening to throw acid<\/strong> on Jovanovi\u0107 before attacking her with a knife<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bystanders helped the dean take cover<\/strong> in a betting shop and reported that she sustained injuries<\/strong>. Shortly after, she entered an ambulance<\/strong> for medical attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One eyewitness stated that the attacker was part of a group<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I saw a knife flash in her hand. First, she threw a can at us,”<\/em> the witness said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previous Attack on February 7<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This is not the first attack<\/strong> on Dean Jovanovi\u0107. She was verbally and physically assaulted<\/strong> during a protest in Ni\u0161 on February 7<\/strong>, when she was confronted by an elderly woman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The woman first attacked the students in front of Ju\u017ena Morava. I approached to protect them. Later, on Bulevar Nemanji\u0107a, she physically assaulted me, got in my face, started cursing and threatening: \u2018We will kill you\u2019 and \u2018You will pay for everything.\u2019 She then began searching for something in her bag, but my colleague, Professor Ivan Jovanovi\u0107, intervened, pushing her away along with student security,”<\/em> she recounted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the incident, Jovanovi\u0107 went to the police station<\/strong>, where she fell ill<\/strong> and was taken to the Cardiology Clinic<\/strong> for treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Support for Student Protests<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Dean Jovanovi\u0107 was one of the first university leaders in Serbia<\/strong> to support student demands<\/strong>. Her Faculty of Philosophy in Ni\u0161<\/strong> was the first to open its doors<\/strong> to students participating in the blockade<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
