{"id":173221,"date":"2025-03-27T14:12:37","date_gmt":"2025-03-27T12:12:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/en\/?p=173221"},"modified":"2025-03-27T14:12:39","modified_gmt":"2025-03-27T12:12:39","slug":"they-allowed-unauthorized-individuals-to-endanger-patients-medical-faculty-students-demand-the-dismissal-of-the-clinical-center-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/en\/they-allowed-unauthorized-individuals-to-endanger-patients-medical-faculty-students-demand-the-dismissal-of-the-clinical-center-director\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cTHEY ALLOWED UNAUTHORIZED INDIVIDUALS TO ENDANGER PATIENTS\u201d: Medical faculty students demand the dismissal of the Clinical center Director!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Students of the <strong>Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade<\/strong> are demanding an investigation into accountability and the dismissal of <strong>Prof. Dr. Jelena Drulovi\u0107<\/strong>, director of the <strong>University Clinical Center of Serbia (UKCS)<\/strong>, as well as <strong>Dr. Marko Ercegovac<\/strong>, director of the <strong>UKCS Emergency Center<\/strong>, and <strong>Dr. Du\u0161an Mici\u0107<\/strong>, head of the <strong>Intensive Care Unit<\/strong> at the Emergency Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reason for their dismissal is that, on <strong>March 17<\/strong> of this year, during the visit of the <strong>President of Serbia<\/strong> to the institution, they allowed <strong>unauthorized individuals<\/strong> to enter the <strong>intensive care unit<\/strong> without proper protective equipment, increasing the risk to the <strong>health of patients<\/strong> in that department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The students <strong>published their demand<\/strong> for an investigation and the dismissal of those responsible on their social media profiles, referring to events at the <strong>University Clinical Center of Serbia (UKCS) on March 17, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The request calls for accountability and dismissal due to the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Unauthorized entry of individuals<\/strong> into the intensive care unit without <strong>adequate protective equipment<\/strong>, creating an <strong>increased risk<\/strong> to the <strong>health and lives of immunocompromised patients<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Unauthorized entry of journalist crews<\/strong> into the same unit, allowing them to <strong>photograph and record patients<\/strong>, violating <strong>personal dignity<\/strong> and <strong>endangering their health<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Disclosure of confidential medical information<\/strong> about patients to unauthorized individuals, which was later <strong>publicly revealed by the President of Serbia<\/strong>, violating <strong>patient dignity, family privacy, and the right to confidentiality<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-media-max-width=\"560\"><p lang=\"qme\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Zs2wSFt5Zb\">pic.twitter.com\/Zs2wSFt5Zb<\/a><\/p>&mdash; MFUBlokadi (@Blokada_Mfub) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Blokada_Mfub\/status\/1904949481843368225?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 26, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>To recall, medical experts and the <strong>public in Serbia and the region<\/strong> were <strong>shocked<\/strong> when the President of Serbia entered the <strong>intensive care unit<\/strong> with <strong>journalist crews<\/strong> during his visit to <strong>Macedonian citizens injured in a fire<\/strong> who had been transferred to Serbia for treatment.
