(VIDEO)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unrest and police intervention followed the session of the <strong>Belgrade City Assembly<\/strong>. <strong>\u0110or\u0111e Miketi\u0107<\/strong>, an activist from the <strong>Most Ostaje<\/strong> group, told the media that <strong>Dejan Atanackovi\u0107, Neboj\u0161a Petrovi\u0107, and two other activists<\/strong> were arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier, opposition representatives obstructed the assembly\u2019s proceedings by standing in front of the speaker\u2019s podium and the presiding members\u2019 seats while holding <strong>Serbian flags and continuously playing the national anthem<\/strong>. Meanwhile, the ruling party representatives <strong>acted as if nothing was happening<\/strong>\u2014just like members of the <strong>Serbian National Assembly on Monday<\/strong>\u2014and proceeded with voting. The session was completed within <strong>an hour and a half<\/strong>, with all points on the agenda approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clashes between <strong>police and citizens<\/strong> occurred after the assembly members left the hall. <strong>Riot police intervened, arresting several demonstrators<\/strong>, who were taken away in police vans, according to reports from the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are suspicions that those arrested were involved in an <strong>earlier incident and altercation<\/strong> between security personnel and citizens, during which the <strong>entrance was pelted with eggs and red paint<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unrest erupted <strong>in front of the Belgrade Assembly building shortly before noon<\/strong>. According to an <strong>N1 reporter<\/strong>, a <strong>scuffle broke out between gathered citizens and security personnel<\/strong>, followed by a <strong>police intervention<\/strong>. A man was seen <strong>falling onto the pavement<\/strong>, and it appeared that <strong>a security officer was sprayed\u2014possibly with pepper spray or tear gas<\/strong>.
