The reason cited is that Serbia\u2019s highest-ranking officials are labeling foreign individuals as enemies, it was announced today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event organizer, <strong>the Railway Cluster for Southeast Europe<\/strong>, stated that companies from <strong>five EU countries<\/strong>, along with part of the associations of leading European railway industry representatives, withdrew their participation. This measure is being enforced by Serbian authorities, and there has also been <strong>public targeting of directors of prominent European companies operating in Serbia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the statement, <strong>foreign ministries and embassies<\/strong> from the exhibitors\u2019 home countries have warned them that Serbia\u2019s top political figures have, for months, publicly accused <strong>the West, Europe, and EU member states<\/strong> of conducting a <strong>&#8220;color revolution&#8221;<\/strong> in Serbia and have labeled foreign individuals as <strong>enemies<\/strong>. This, they claim, poses a potential <strong>security threat<\/strong> to businesspeople traveling to Serbia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s <strong>SEE Mobility fair<\/strong> had been in preparation for more than a year. For the first time in history, the <strong>directors of the three largest European railway industry associations<\/strong> were scheduled to attend the <strong>opening in Belgrade<\/strong> as guests.
