The city of \u010ca\u010dak<\/strong> is known for many things, but it is becoming increasingly recognized for its heroic women<\/strong>. After Tatjana Obradovi\u0107<\/strong>, who adopted a butterfly child<\/strong>, another woman has touched hearts<\/strong> with her extraordinary gesture. An\u0111elka Zagor\u010di\u0107<\/strong> has decided to donate the stem cells<\/strong> she had preserved for her daughter to someone in urgent need of them for recovery<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We preserved stem cells 16 years ago when I gave birth to my fourth child, my son Novak. At the time, we intended to use them for the treatment of my daughter Jana, who has type 1 diabetes. Since medicine has not yet advanced enough to treat this disease with stem cells, we decided to give them to another child who can benefit from them,”<\/em> An\u0111elka told RINA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story of a sick girl from Smederevo<\/strong> deeply moved the Zagor\u010di\u0107 family<\/strong>, leading them to donate the preserved stem cells without hesitation<\/strong>. Jana<\/strong>, for whom the cells were originally stored, fully supported the decision<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Perhaps the girl suffering from aplastic anemia won\u2019t be a match, as several medical parameters must align. But that won\u2019t stop us. We are open to exchanging the preserved stem cells for a compatible match, and if that\u2019s not possible, we will donate them to another child who can be helped,”<\/em> says this compassionate woman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their goal is to help a sick child<\/strong> in any way they can<\/strong>, as they understand the struggles firsthand<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I often say that I am a wealthy woman\u2014not in material things, but in what truly matters: my daughters and sons. However, I also know what it means to have a sick child. There is nothing harder, believe me. That\u2019s why, as much as I can, I will strive to help another family in their fight for recovery and a better life,”<\/em> An\u0111elka emphasizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, this \u010ca\u010dak native<\/strong> is also a grandmother<\/strong>. Her eldest son, \u0110or\u0111e<\/strong>, is married to Olga<\/strong>, and they have a daughter, Milica<\/strong>. Jana<\/strong>, the girl for whom it all began, is now in her final year of university<\/strong>, Mihailo<\/strong> is working, and the youngest, Novak<\/strong>, is a first-year high school student<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
