Students of the Saint Sava Academy from Chicago visited today with the school principal Dragan Arsi\u0107 the General Consulate of the Republic of Serbia in Chicago<\/a>, where they spent several hours learning about the Serbian state and its structure.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their hosts, Consul General Andrija Ze\u010devi\u0107 <\/strong>and Vice Consuls Aleksandar \u0110or\u0111evi\u0107 <\/strong>and Aleksandar Mili\u0107<\/strong>, helped them learn more about their homeland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0110or\u0111evi\u0107 and Mili\u0107 found themselves in the role of professors and gave the children a lecture on the constitutional and legal system of Serbia<\/a>, explaining how the division of power works, the powers of the holders of legislative, executive and judicial power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-We explained to them that the Constitution is the highest legal act of a country, what is the procedure for its adoption and amendment by amendments, as well as the structure. And of course, we emphasized that its preamble states that the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija<\/a> is an integral and inalienable part of Serbia, says Vice Consul Aleksandar Mili\u0107 for Serbian Times.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He adds that the students of the “Saint Sava” Academy were most interested when they learned that they could run for the highest state functions – people’s deputies and president, to be ministers and prime ministers\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-We also introduced the children to the way the Consulate works and the services it provides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the children were winners of competitions in mathematics, athletics and karate, so they also had something to brag about to the diplomats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the end, they all sang the anthem “God of Justice” together\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
