After the boycott of major retail chains in Serbia on Friday, January 31, the Consumer Protection Association Efektiva<\/strong> has called on citizens for a new, longer boycott. This one, they say, will last five days\u2014from Monday, February 10, to Friday, February 14<\/strong>, reports Euronews Serbia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Efektiva has urged consumers to avoid shopping at five major retail chains<\/strong> during this period: Delhaize (which owns “Maxi” and “Shop&Go”), Mercator (“Idea” and “Roda”), as well as “DIS,” “Lidl,” and “Univerexport.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dejan Gavrilovi\u0107<\/strong> from Efektiva stressed the importance of consistency<\/strong>, urging consumers to refrain from shopping at these stores. He also revealed that while sales dropped by about 37%<\/strong> during the previous one-day boycott, some chains responded by raising prices on certain products<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This prompted the decision to extend the boycott to five days.<\/strong> However, Gavrilovi\u0107 noted that the strategy is still evolving and that further steps will be determined after evaluating the results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
