Veljko Stojkovi\u0107 is a boy suffering from a rare and severe disease, brain atrophy, whose fight for life touched many people in Serbia a few years ago.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the meantime, Veljko and his parents moved to the United States<\/a>, where the famous Mayo Clinic, together with Harvard University, carried out a special pilot project to help him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike Serbian doctors, who told his parents that their child was fading and would not survive, American doctors put Veljko on special therapy, which gave excellent results, so the little boy born in Novi Sad has since started kindergarten, where he works according to a special program and spends time playing with his peers, which was unimaginable until recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Veljko’s parents, Darko and Dragana, sold all their property in Serbia <\/a>to raise money for his treatment. The fight continued in America, so Darko, a graduate pedagogue, works seven days a week as a driver, and his working day lasts from 7 to 15 hours. But when it comes to his son, nothing is difficult for him.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His wife Dragana, a master architect with two licenses from the Engineering Chamber and several serious projects behind her, closed her company in Serbia to dedicate herself to Veljko and the family, where she is not only a mother, but also a nurse, teacher, therapist, nutritionist\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the fight for their child’s life, Darko and Dragana did not receive adequate help from doctors in Serbia, and the hardest thing for them is the lack of support from their families, who did not understand the sacrifice they made to save their son’s life.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
