{"id":162673,"date":"2025-02-03T17:02:34","date_gmt":"2025-02-03T15:02:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/en\/?p=162673"},"modified":"2025-02-03T17:02:35","modified_gmt":"2025-02-03T15:02:35","slug":"vucic-seeks-solution-for-protests-serbian-president-invites-university-rectors-board-to-dialogue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/en\/vucic-seeks-solution-for-protests-serbian-president-invites-university-rectors-board-to-dialogue\/","title":{"rendered":"VU\u010cI\u0106 SEEKS SOLUTION FOR PROTESTS: Serbian President invites University Rector\u2019s Board to dialogue!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Serbian President <strong>Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107<\/strong> has invited the <strong>Rector\u2019s Board of the University of Belgrade<\/strong> to begin a dialogue on <strong>Wednesday, February 5<\/strong>, at a time of their choosing, in order to find a solution to the ongoing <strong>blockade of classes<\/strong> at higher education institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;If students and professors believe that some of their demands have not been met or have not been fully addressed, it is necessary to open a dialogue on this issue, as well as on any other matters that may be important for overcoming the current situation,&#8221;<\/em> President Vu\u010di\u0107 stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He emphasized that, based on <strong>Article 111 of the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia<\/strong>, which grants him the role of expressing <strong>state unity<\/strong>, and using his <strong>authority as an elected public official<\/strong>, he is calling on the Rector\u2019s Board, along with <strong>other relevant institutions and representatives of the academic community<\/strong>, to initiate a dialogue aimed at resolving the <strong>ongoing blockade of higher education institutions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*&#8221;Following the tragedy in Novi Sad on November 1, 2024, the blockade of university buildings began on November 22. These blockades have resulted in the suspension of lectures, exercises, exams, and other forms of teaching at higher education institutions.
