(VIDEO)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Jovana Parmakovi\u0107, along with her husband and two children, <strong>moved back to her family\u2019s estate in No\u0107aj<\/strong> two years ago from an apartment in <strong>Sremska Mitrovica<\/strong>. The young couple is now <strong>producing milk<\/strong> and gradually taking over the farm from Jovana\u2019s father.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although she <strong>grew up in the countryside<\/strong>, Jovana <strong>knew almost nothing about agriculture or livestock farming<\/strong> until two years ago. She quickly adapted to <strong>early mornings<\/strong> and learned the daily tasks on the family farm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;Two years ago, I barely even knew what a cow looked like\u2014even though they were right there! My father brought in cows in 2014, but I had no interaction with them. Now, I do everything\u2014I even cook, which I didn\u2019t do before. I make cheese and sell it,&#8221;<\/em> says <strong>Jovana Parmakovi\u0107 from No\u0107aj<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything on the farm is <strong>a team effort<\/strong>. They currently <strong>milk over 30 cows<\/strong> and <strong>deliver around 450 liters of milk daily<\/strong> to a dairy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;It\u2019s an incredibly difficult job because it requires a lot of sacrifice. Raising one baby is easier than dairy farming. Dairy cows need care from the early morning until late at night,&#8221;<\/em> says <strong>Jelica Parmakovi\u0107 from No\u0107aj<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;In the summer, we try to get up really early to finish before the heat sets in. In the winter, it\u2019s a bit more relaxed\u2014we wake up around seven or eight, have coffee, and then start working. The responsibilities are non-stop, 24 hours a day. Sometimes a cow gives birth in the middle of the night, and of course, you have to get up and help,&#8221;<\/em> explains <strong>Jovana Parmakovi\u0107<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"\/\/services.brid.tv\/player\/build\/brid.min.js\"><\/script><div id=\"videoBox-1959887\" class=\"brid\" itemprop=\"video\" itemscope itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/VideoObject\"><\/div><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> $bp(\"videoBox-1959887\", {\"id\":\"34612\",\"width\":\"600\",\"height\":\"343\",\"video\":\"1959887\",\"autoplay\":0,\"shared\":true});<\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>Their <strong>barns and pens are full<\/strong>, with around <strong>100 head of cattle<\/strong> in their <strong>Ma\u010dvan farmyard<\/strong>. They also cultivate <strong>80 hectares of land<\/strong>, mostly planting <strong>grains<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;They help me a lot. I couldn\u2019t do anything without them. This kind of work is all connected\u2014one task depends on another. The conditions are tough. When it\u2019s time to harvest clover or grain, it has to be done immediately. The cattle can\u2019t wait. When I was alone, I had to take care of the animals first, then go to the fields,&#8221;<\/em> says <strong>Dejan Parmakovi\u0107<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dairy farming is considered <strong>the hardest<\/strong> branch of livestock production, according to these young farmers, who <strong>don\u2019t regret moving back to the countryside<\/strong>.
