“I worked in Germany for five years in a nursing home, and then as a nurse. Although the salaries are good, I decided to return because of my family and children,” Dragana Markovi\u0107 (54) from the village of Plana near Para\u0107in told Kurir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She recently learned from the media about the Ministry of Health’s program for the return of medical professionals from abroad, returned to her homeland, and got a job in a general practice health center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I studied in \u0106uprija, and then worked in health centers and clinics for 23 years. I have two grown-up children who had to go to university. Since we had exhausted all our finances, I had to help my children and decided to go to Germany. My diploma was immediately recognized, I just needed to learn B1. I waited a year and a half for a visa. That was the only problem. In 2019, I got a job in a nursing home in Frankfurt,” Markovi\u0107 said, adding:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The biggest problem in their nursing homes is the lack of staff. I had to work far more than prescribed. The salaries are better than ours. I stayed there for two years, and then I got a job caring for patients in their homes. These are mostly comatose patients, but they are at home to be with their families.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
