Although the salaries are good, I decided to return because of my family and children,” Dragana Marković (54) from the village of Plana near Paraćin told Kurir.

She recently learned from the media about the Ministry of Health’s program for the return of medical professionals from abroad, returned to her homeland, and got a job in a general practice health center.

“I studied in Ćuprija, and then worked in health centers and clinics for 23 years. I have two grown-up children who had to go to university. Since we had exhausted all our finances, I had to help my children and decided to go to Germany. My diploma was immediately recognized, I just needed to learn B1. I waited a year and a half for a visa. That was the only problem. In 2019, I got a job in a nursing home in Frankfurt,” Marković said, adding:

“The biggest problem in their nursing homes is the lack of staff. I had to work far more than prescribed. The salaries are better than ours. I stayed there for two years, and then I got a job caring for patients in their homes. These are mostly comatose patients, but they are at home to be with their families.”

FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK:

Dragana explains that her job was to be with the patient for 12 hours, monitoring the equipment. She says this was easier for her, and the pay was better. The responsibility was greater, but she didn’t have to communicate too much.

“I did that for almost two years. In the meantime, the children finished their studies and wanted to come, but I didn’t want my children to grow up there. I wanted to come back. The job here is good, but Frankfurt is a multicultural environment, with people from all over the world living there. You have to be careful with everyone. Germans are proud of themselves, they respect their own, and they are not so welcoming to foreigners. They started to complain about why there were so many foreigners in their city. They didn’t like it.”

Marković got a job in a health center in her hometown.

“Finally, I’ve been accepted and I’m doing the job I love with my people in my place with my family,” she concluded.

READ MORE:

EPIC SCANDAL IN ROMANIA: Ruling party paid for TikTok campaign that led to the annulment of Georgescu’s victory!

CHICAGO IS CULTIVATING FUTURE OLYMPIC CHAMPIONS: Young Karatekas promise to bring gold to Serbia one day!
