{"id":158046,"date":"2024-12-19T17:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-19T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/en\/?p=158046"},"modified":"2024-12-19T20:44:15","modified_gmt":"2024-12-19T18:44:15","slug":"lest-we-forget-the-massacre-of-serbs-in-josanica-village-happened-eactly-32-years-ago","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/en\/lest-we-forget-the-massacre-of-serbs-in-josanica-village-happened-eactly-32-years-ago\/","title":{"rendered":"LEST WE FORGET: The massacre of Serbs in Jo\u0161anica village happened eactly 32 years ago!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>Thirty-two years have passed since the massacre of <a href=\"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/en\/category\/serbia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Serbs <\/a>in the village of Jo\u0161anica in the municipality of Fo\u010da, Republic of Srpska, when members of the so-called Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina killed 56 local Serb residents.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The massacre took place in the village of Jo\u0161anica and its surrounding hamlets on this day 32 years ago when well-armed and numerous Muslim forces entered from the direction of Gora\u017ede on December 19, 1992, into the rear of Serb positions and, burning everything in their path, massacred Serbian women, the elderly, and children, as reported by RTRS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the killed were 21 women and three children under the age of 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A dozen hamlets in Gornja Jo\u0161anica in the municipality of Fo\u010da were wiped off the map after houses and outbuildings were burned down, and even fruit trees were cut down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The victims were killed in a very brutal manner, often with cold weapons, and many were burned alive in their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:#FFFFFF;color:#d21414\" class=\"has-inline-color\">FIND OUT MORE IN SERBIAN:<\/mark><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fserbiantimes%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0vkE93XAwPWoGMzCZYSJ2XsJvNVBLnZ337ukzN5fLpaNJH3MQgZy78nczL8chEksol&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"583\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>The youngest victim was two-year-old Danka Tanovi\u0107, and among the killed were seven-year-old Dra\u017een and his ten-year-old sister Dragana.
