A preliminary census conducted in April and May of this year in Kosovo <\/a>has revealed a population of 1,602,515 inhabitants, the acting director of the so-called Kosovo Agency of Statistics, Avni Kastrati, announced.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized that the majority of the population in Kosovo, based on religion, is Muslim, accounting for 93.49%, while the census results show that there are 2.31% Orthodox Christians, or 36,783 individuals, according to Euronews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is estimated that the entire census project has been assessed at the highest level. 93% of apartments\/houses are owned, and very few are rented. The number of households has increased by 69,505. The gender gap has decreased from 11,975 in 2011 to 5,538 in 2024, which represents a decrease of 53.8%. The average age of the population is 34.84 years. Kosovo is the second country in Europe with a young population, which remains to be proven. The illiteracy rate has decreased from 3.85% to 2.27%,” said Kastrati.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to data published on the official website of the so-called Kosovo Agency of Statistics, the municipality of Gra\u010danica has 18,486 inhabitants (8,623 Albanians and 8,650 Serbs), Ranilug 2,481 (2,349 Serbs, 129 Albanians), Parte\u0161 3,240 (3,221 Serbs, 13 Albanians), four municipalities in the north 7,920 (5,594 Serbs, 1,489 Albanians), Klokot 3,041 (1,702 Albanians, 1,330 Serbs), \u0160trpce 10,771 (8,080 Serbs, 2,626 Albanians)\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the previous census in 2011, there were 1,739,825 inhabitants in Kosovo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
