Saint Nicholas Day, they say, is the greatest Serbian holiday, and many celebrate it in our American diaspora, especially in the largest Serbian city overseas, Chicago<\/a>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They say that when Saint Nicholas Day comes, half of Serbia <\/a>celebrates, and the other half goes to celebrate, as guests. Translated into numbers, that roughly means that today, around half a million people will be celebrating in Chicago and the surrounding area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this day, as tradition dictates, a lean feast is prepared, a slava cake is taken to church, and we took a peek into the home of a Serbian family to see what it all looks like. And not just any family, but the family with the most children in our entire diaspora\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
