Naturalized Pirot resident Kendi Davison, originally from Australia, moved to Pirot with her husband four years ago. They settled in a small village about ten minutes from the city, bought a house, and began their new life in a place they say completely captivated them. Reflecting on their decision to relocate so far from their home in Australia, they describe it as the best decision they’ve made in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As Kendi told ST<\/em>, their decision to move to Pirot wasn\u2019t entirely random. She has distant relatives in the area and had visited before, but she and her husband were especially enchanted by the peaceful village lifestyle, the stunning nature surrounding Pirot, and the incredible, natural, unprocessed, and healthy food\u2014all of which can be easily found at the local green market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kendi also has a highly unique hobby: making “memory quilts”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n These quilts or mats are intricately stitched with authentic children\u2019s clothing items, starting from newborn onesies. The quilts tell a story of a child\u2019s growth, featuring details such as the child\u2019s name, birth date, and christening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “These quilts have incredible emotional value, and the best part is that I make them as a hobby and purely for my own enjoyment. The first quilt I made was a gift for a friend I met shortly after moving here. She was absolutely thrilled, and that\u2019s how it all started.
