Relja Stanojevi\u0107 has been free since last night after spending two weeks in detention following an incident at a protest in Novi Sad<\/a>. He told N1 that in detention, “there are no rights” and that “totally inhumane conditions” prevail.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Yesterday, I was released from detention, and I’m still shocked by the whole situation. I sincerely express my condolences to the families of the victims. I’m fine, though everything is still mixed up in my head. I’m holding on and trying to find a positive perspective in all of this,” said Relja Stanojevi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He explained that it is true that detainees were subjected to inhumane conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“That’s absolutely true. There are no rights there. There are all kinds of people there \u2014 but they are still people. When you’re in such an institution, you feel like there’s nothing within five kilometers of you, as if you’re in the middle of a desert, bombarded by regime-controlled channels on the only TV in the room. It’s not fit for humans. The conditions are totally inhumane,” Stanojevi\u0107 stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
