The Nations League match between Romania and Kosovo was interrupted and ultimately abandoned due to the actions of the away team. Romanian goalkeeper Florin Nita has provided a revealing account of the incident.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A confrontation between players from both teams sparked a hostile reaction from the Romanian fans, who began chanting “Serbia, Serbia.” Consequently, the Kosovo players retreated to the tunnel. Despite the referee’s attempts to persuade them to return, they refused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main referee dismissed their protests, which were based on the chants from the stands. The Kosovo players then made a dramatic exit to the tunnel and did not return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the match, tensions escalated further, with the away team even attacking home journalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Florin Nita, speaking after the incident, stated: “They were waiting from the first to the last minute for some kind of offensive remark, something!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Florin Nita, 37, and Romania’s goalkeeper, described the tense atmosphere as they waited for the Kosovo players to return to the pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recognized as one of Romania’s best players in the match, Nita made several crucial saves against the visiting team. However, he admitted that Romania’s overall performance was below par.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goalkeeper revealed that throughout the match, he felt the opposition was waiting for a pretext to leave the field. “We showed courage and wanted to finish the match on the pitch. We wanted to play, and I hope the decision will be in our favor. I’m glad I had a lot of work today, I haven’t had so many balls in a long time. I’m glad we didn’t concede a goal. I don’t know what to say, I don’t want to speak on their behalf, but what happened was not right. We showed courage and wanted to finish the match on the field. We were warming up on the pitch, hoping the match would continue. I have nothing to comment on, I’ve never encountered such a situation before. He received a message from the fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We all sacrificed, we worked hard, I’m glad we did a good job. I thank the fans from the bottom of my heart for chanting my name, but they should support the whole team, not just one player. I thank God that we didn’t lose this match. I hope we will be more careful in the future. We need to strive for more and not be satisfied with little,” said Florin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
