The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Sad has announced that a total of 66 people have been questioned so far, and that five more people have been ordered to be questioned today regarding the tragic event that took place on November 1st, when the roof of the Novi Sad Railway Station collapsed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Within the pre-investigation procedure, a construction expert assessment is underway regarding the causes of the roof collapse, as well as analyzes of samples of the collapsed roof debris, which are being carried out at the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Sad. Upon completion of the expertise and determination of the causes of the roof collapse, the public prosecutor’s office will be able to determine the responsibility for the omissions that led to the tragic consequences,” the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As previously announced, the tragic event of November 1, 2024, has an absolute priority in the proceedings of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Sad, which, in cooperation with the Novi Sad Police Administration, has collected all relevant documentation from all relevant institutions and individuals, a detailed analysis of which is underway, and in order to determine all the facts that are significant for criminal responsibility in connection with the collapse of the roof of the Novi Sad Railway Station, about which the public will be informed in a timely and regular manner, the statement added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a reminder, 14 people died in the tragedy in Novi Sad, and three were seriously injured. So far, no one has been held criminally responsible for it, and only the Minister of Construction, Goran Vesic, has resigned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
