(VIDEO)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/en\/tag\/rod-blagojevic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Rod Blagojevi\u0107<\/a><\/strong>, a former governor of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/en\/tag\/usa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">US <\/a><\/strong>state of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/en\/tag\/Illinois\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Illinois <\/a><\/strong>who was a Democratic member of the US Congress in 1999, has stated that the US and NATO bombed Serbia that year because it refused to accept the secession of Kosovo and Metohija.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a conversation with journalist Tucker Carlson, reflecting on that period, Blagojevi\u0107 said that in 1999, the US and NATO, without the permission of the United Nations, did to Serbia, his father&#8217;s homeland, the same thing that Russia is now doing to Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We decided then to bomb a sovereign country,&#8221; Blagojevi\u0107 said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He recalled that the US and NATO decided to bomb Serbia because of Kosovo and Metohija, which is part of it, after Serbia did not accept the Rambouillet Agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;They said that part of the country simply had to be separated, and if you don&#8217;t agree to secession, we will bomb you.
