However, not everyone heeded these warnings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Michael Sean Comerford (65) revealed to CBS News that he decided to stay behind to look after his parents&#8217; apartment. He&#8217;s barricaded himself on the 23rd floor of his building while his parents evacuated to their daughter&#8217;s place in Naples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I&#8217;m prepared, the island is closed. I have food and water for the next two days&#8221;, he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Michael shared that he&#8217;s not the only one who remained in the building. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I expect the power to go out due to the hurricane. I feel like I&#8217;ll survive.
