Darko Jukan, head of the Public Relations Department of Bosnia and Herzegovina<\/a><\/strong>, confirmed that at least 14 people died in Jablanica. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stated that 14 bodies were found and that there were “many casualties,” and that the most critical situation was in the area of \u200b\u200bDonja Jablanica, on the road from Mostar to Sarajevo<\/a><\/strong>, after heavy rainfall overnight from Thursday to Friday, which caused landslides and mudslides in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jablanica remains completely cut off from the rest of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnian Defense Minister Zukan Helez previously said that he unofficially had information about at least 20 victims in Jablanica. He stated that members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the police, and international forces undergoing training were engaged, and that there were problems with communication disruptions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– We will seek help from the international community and other countries – he added for Al Jazeera<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be engaged at full capacity to assist the population of flooded areas, Minister Helez told Avaz. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“A pregnant woman, whose child died in her womb, was evacuated from the flooded areas in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina and operated on in Mostar,” said Lamija Duranovi\u0107, director of the Cantonal Hospital “Dr. Safet Muji\u0107”, for Radio Free Europe<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
