Negotiations between representatives of farmers, who have been protesting and blocking roads since Wednesday, and the Ministry of Agriculture have failed, and the farmers are announcing a radicalization of the protests starting Wednesday.
Farmers left the meeting at the Government of Serbia with the Minister of Agriculture Dragan Glamočić.
As reported by the N1 reporter, the meeting lasted about an hour, and the farmers said that they should have left the meeting even earlier because, according to them, the minister tried to manipulate both them and the topic. They said that nothing was offered to them in the Government of Serbia.
Farmer Milan Pajić said after the meeting that the minister tried to manipulate them and told them that there are traitors in the ranks of the farmers who report to him what is happening.
To the farmers’ words that their existence is endangered, the minister asked them why they do it if it is not profitable for them. The farmers add that nothing was offered to them at the meeting, except that he would talk to the dairies, and that the dairies would be punished if they do not respect the contracts.
The radicalization of the protests should begin as early as tomorrow, but it was not specified what that means. It is assumed that it will involve activating as many farmers and vehicles as possible to participate in blockades in several places in Serbia.
The N1 reporter reports that at the beginning of the meeting, the minister said that the state is ready for dialogue and to talk with them, and to sit in the Government until a solution is found.
Glamočić called the protests a circus and said that he hopes to talk with the farmers about agriculture, and not about politics. When one of the farmers asked him when they had spoken about politics, the minister asked the journalists to leave the meeting.
