High school students from several schools in Belgrade will block the highway for four hours today, according to a statement from a self-organized group of students from the Mathematical Gymnasium participating in the blockade.
The self-organized students of Belgrade’s Mathematical Gymnasium announced on their official Instagram profile that they will carry out the action “We Weren’t Joking”, which involves a highway blockade from 3 PM to 7 PM.
Plan of Action
In their Instagram post, they outlined the plan for today’s protest:
- 2:15 PM – Gathering in front of the National Assembly
- 2:30 PM – Departure down Knez Miloš Street towards the highway
- 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM – Highway blockade
The students emphasized that they weren’t joking, referencing April 1st (April Fools’ Day) as a symbolic reminder.
In the Instagram post, the students of Mathematical Gymnasium tagged their peers from Third Belgrade Gymnasium, Sixth Gymnasium, “Sveti Sava” Gymnasium, SMŠ “Stanković”, and also mentioned the profile of Belgrade high school students in blockade.
