Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that today’s local elections in Kosjerić and Zaječar were held “under unprecedented conditions – under conditions of lynching, persecution, and harassment of citizens.”
Speaking from the headquarters of the Serbian Progressive Party, he said that the conditions in Kosjerić and Zaječar were unprecedented. “Under conditions of lynching, persecution, harassment of citizens, threats, blackmail, violation of all legal norms, basic electoral rules,” he said.
He stated that thugs were brought in “on motorcycles, and in black jeeps” who, he says, threatened citizens.
He stated that they campaigned in Zaječar under horrific conditions. He added that in that city, the SNS list achieved a huge and decisive victory.
“It is a huge victory in Zaječar, which is five and a half times larger than Kosjerić, a huge and decisive victory. And in Kosjerić it was close, but the SNS list won. We are at 48.05, the second-placed blockading list at 38.84, the third local at 7.72. You can see for yourselves, the difference in votes is huge. Together they lag behind us by about 2,000 votes. The Socialist Party of Serbia is currently at 2985 out of 303 valid votes. Regardless of what the SPS will bring, which cannot fundamentally change the balance of power between the government and the opposition, either the SPS will be 0.01 below the threshold or there will be a different distribution depending on how many votes come from the polling station. Four years ago we had 24 mandates, now we have 27, and in votes we received over 14,000, last time 11,800 if I’m not mistaken,” said Vučić.
He said that the SNS list also won in Kosjerić.
Let’s recall that opposition lists declared victory in both places.
