President Aleksandar Vučić stated in Seville that the harassment of citizens in Serbia by blockaders is an expression of impotence and anger, and he said that the state has done its job and will continue to do it every day.

“They came out with a statement that the police committed violence, such heinous lies and nonsense, okay, and then we will set up barricades, and when the police appear, then we will come out with balaclavas and masks and harass all of Belgrade and send plans on how we will destroy our country and harass every city. The state has done its job,” Vučić said.

He was responding to a journalist’s question to comment on the blockades of intersections and bridges organized last night in Belgrade and other cities, and how the state will react in the future if there are similar attempts to blockades and disrupt the normal lives of citizens.

Vučić, who is participating in the fourth UN international conference on development financing, emphasized that, regarding “barricades and terrorist activities in Serbia, the state has done its job,” but also that he saw that people were very scared and had fear of hooligans who, as he pointed out, think they have the right to destroy everyone else’s lives.

“You must bear in mind that this is an expression of impotence and anger; it is always the one who lost who seeks a fight after the game, not the one who won. Those who lose seek salvation in such a conflict. It is clear to them that everything has failed, and now, let’s climb poles and pillars, take down Expo flags and other things,” Vučić said. He asked whether that is a program for the future and what they offer to citizens.
