Juventus footballer Dušan Vlahović and Red Star Belgrade coach Vladan Milojević are the winners of the Football Association of Serbia (FSS) “Golden Ball” for 2024, it was announced today after a meeting of the FSS Executive Board chaired by President Dragan Džajić and General Secretary Branko Radujko.
Vlahović will receive this prestigious award for the first time in his career, while Milojević will receive it for the third time – after 2017 and 2018.
“The Executive Board adopted a proposal on awards and recognitions for the best individuals in the outgoing year. The FSS’ Golden Ball’ for the best player went to Dušan Vlahović, and the best coach is Vladan Milojević. The best player is Nina Matejić. The most promising young player is Andrija Maksimović, player Sara Stokić, and the most promising coach Jovan Damjanović,” the official FSS website states.
The official “Golden Ball” ceremony will be held on Wednesday from 7 pm.
“At the proposal of General Secretary Branko Radujko, Zoran Rakić, a player of RFK Novi Sad 1921, is awarded the FSS plaque for special merits in promoting relations in Serbian football – protecting the integrity of the competition,” the FSS announced.
At the meeting of the Executive Board, a decision was adopted on the election of members of the ad hoc Commission for the improvement and reform of the competition system within the FSS. Branko Radujko was entrusted with the presidency of the commission, his deputy Darko Ramovš, and members Aleksandar Pivić, Nenad Popović, Dušan Gelić, and Nenad Santrač.
The regulations on the licensing of FSS clubs for competition in the Super and First Leagues were adopted, as well as the regulations on the licensing and financial sustainability of FSS clubs for competitions organized by UEFA. The financial report for the period January 1 – September 30, 2024, was also adopted.

The new coach of the Serbian women’s football team is Lidija Stojkanović.
“Stojkanović has previously been the coach of the youth team (WU19), which won 5th place at the last European Championship for players under 19 years old. Dragiša Zečević has been appointed coach of the youth team (WU19). Aleksandar Petrović, coach of the cadet team, has had his contract extended for another year,” FSS announced.
The FSS Executive Board decided to award the Diamond and Golden Balls to the players.
“In accordance with the Regulations on the awarding of public recognitions of the FSS, the ‘Diamond Ball’ is awarded to players with more than 75 appearances in the national team jersey, players Violeta Slović (102 appearances), Milica Mijatović (94), and Nevena Damjanović (89), and the ‘Golden Ball’ to players who have played over 50 matches, Jelena Čanković (68 appearances), Milica Kostić (63), Jovana Damnjanović (61), Dina Blagojević (61), Dejana Stefanović (59), Tijana Filipović (59), Alegri Poljak (58), and Marija Ilić (58),” the FSS statement adds.
On the technical sponsor for 2025.
The decision on the technical sponsor was postponed until the beginning of 2025.
“After a detailed analysis of the current offers, the Executive Board decided to contact the interested partners again, request an improvement of the conditions, and postpone the final decision regarding the technical partner until the beginning of 2025. Among the candidates for the technical partner are Italian Macron, American Capelli, and Spanish Kelme,” it was published on the official FSS website.
