Serbian tennis player Olga Danilović failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the Osaka tournament, as she was defeated in three sets by the Czech Tereza Valentova 6:4, 2:6, 3:6.
Danilović, the 49th tennis player in the world, was defeated by the 78th ranked player on the WTA list after two hours and seven minutes.
In the first set, Danilović made two breaks in the first six games along with one lost, then allowed her opponent to level the score in the ninth game, but already in the next game, she took things back under control and reached 6:4.
However, things went badly in the next set, as from 1:0 she allowed three consecutive games for 3:1, and then definitely let that part of the game slip away with a new break in the seventh game (6:2), while in the third set, after a tie in the first four games and one break on each side, and a won fifth game for 3:2, a total collapse followed, four consecutive games and 6:3 in the end.
In the semi-finals, Valentova will play against the Romanian Jaqueline Cristian.
