United States President Donald Trump stated today that Iran will not be making bombs “for much longer,” and that the last thing they want to do is enrich uranium.
He said this to reporters at the NATO summit in The Hague, commenting on the statement by the Iranian foreign minister that the country would continue to enrich uranium.
“The last thing they want is to enrich anything at this moment. They want to recover, and we will not allow that,” Trump said, as reported by Fox News.
He added that he did not believe Iran had “almost enough time.”
“I think it was a huge victory for everyone… Israel was hit very hard, especially in the last few days. But Israel also hit really hard. Those ballistic missiles, they brought down a lot of buildings and they were great, but they won’t be making bombs for much longer,” Trump said.
“Intelligence was very vague”
Trump stated that intelligence after the attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities was vague, but hinted that the damage caused could have been serious.
“The intelligence was very vague. Intelligence says we don’t know. It could have been very serious. That’s what the data suggests,” Trump told reporters ahead of a meeting with world leaders at the NATO summit in The Hague, Reuters reported.
According to him, it was “very serious.”
“There was destruction,” he added.
Earlier today, Trump criticized CNN and the New York Times, emphasizing that the news they published, stating that US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities did not achieve their goal, was fake.
“Fake News CNN, along with the failing New York Times, teamed up in an attempt to demean one of the most successful military strikes in history. Nuclear facilities in Iran are totally destroyed. The Times and CNN are under public criticism,” Trump said in a post on the Truth Social social network.
Trump also quoted an earlier statement from his special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, who said that “there is no doubt” that their bombs were destroyed in the US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
