America eagerly awaits tomorrow’s inauguration of the new yet familiar President Donald Trump, which, as we can now confidently say, will be unlike any before it. Due to extremely low temperatures forecasted for the nation’s capital, Trump has announced that the ceremony will be moved indoors.
The venue will be the Capitol Rotunda, last used for an inauguration by Ronald Reagan in 1985, also due to severe cold weather.
Reagan is no longer with us, but three former U.S. presidents who are still alive—Obama, Clinton, and Bush—have announced that they will skip the traditional inaugural lunch and will only attend the swearing-in ceremony.
However, Trump will be congratulated in person by three of the most powerful men in Big Tech: Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg. Joining them will be the fourth tech mogul, TikTok owner Shou Zi Chew, whose social media platform has been a hot topic in America in recent days. Also in attendance will be the CEOs of Uber and Apple.
Among foreign leaders, Trump will be applauded by his friend, Argentine President Milei, as well as Italian Prime Minister Meloni, the President of Ecuador, and leaders of right-wing parties from Germany, France, and Belgium. Of course, the ever-present British conservative Nigel Farage will also be there. China is sending its Vice President, while Japan and India will be represented by their foreign ministers.
Prominent figures from the entertainment world are also expected, including Caitlyn Jenner, Amber Rose, and Dana White. It is also highly likely that a trio of Hollywood stars, whom Trump has named as his California representatives—Mel Gibson, Sylvester Stallone, and Jon Voight—will confirm their attendance at the last minute.
While Trump prepares for his inauguration, Chicago—the largest Serbian city outside Belgrade—is gearing up for large-scale raids on illegal immigrants, marking the first actions of Trump’s new administration. The raids are scheduled to begin as early as Tuesday, the day after the inauguration, and will target anyone without legal residency papers in the U.S.
