President Donald Trump has broken his silence regarding Jeffrey Epstein’s files after the U.S. Department of Justice released more than three million new documents on Friday.
Speaking for the first time about the release while flying to Florida, Trump told reporters on Saturday:
“I haven’t personally seen it, but I’ve been told by some very important people that this not only clears me, it’s exactly the opposite of what some were hoping for, you know, the radical left.”
Trump is mentioned over 3,000 times in the latest documents. Mere mentions do not imply any criminal wrongdoing, and the Department of Justice stated that some documents contain false and sensationalized claims about Trump, who has denied any wrongdoing and has never been charged with a crime related to Epstein.
However, significant attention has been drawn to reports received by the FBI in which Trump was accused of sexual abuse and violence against minors.
Trump said he plans to sue author Michael Wolff and is considering legal action against Epstein’s estate, claiming that these individuals “conspired” to politically harm him.
“Wolff, a third-rate writer, conspired with Jeffrey Epstein to politically or otherwise harm me, and that was completely clear,” Trump said. “So we will probably sue Wolff… maybe Epstein’s estate as well, I suppose. I don’t know. But we will definitely sue Wolff.”
