From North Macedonia to Belgrade, 12 patients injured in the accident at a nightclub in Kočani were transported last night by a Serbian Army CASA C-295 aircraft, who will be treated at the Military Medical Academy (VMA) and the Clinical Center of Serbia.

Nine patients injured in the fire in North Macedonia have been distributed to the Emergency Center of Serbia, while three patients have been admitted to the Military Medical Academy (VMA).

Previously, an aircraft with four doctors and four medical technicians flew to North Macedonia for medical evacuation of those injured in the accident.

Also, two patients who were transported by military ambulance vehicles from North Macedonia are being treated at the Military Hospital in Niš and the Clinical Center in Niš.

To provide assistance to the injured, it is planned that two doctors from the Military Medical Academy (a plastic surgeon and an anesthesiologist), as well as a medical technician – instrument technician, will remain in North Macedonia.

In the fire at the “Pulse” nightclub in Kočani, which broke out on Sunday at three o’clock after midnight during a concert, according to the latest information, 59 people died, and 155 were injured, of which 22 are critical.  

Serbia will take over some of the seriously injured in the fire, who will have to stay in hospitals for several months.

Honorary Consul Covers Family Expenses

The Honorary Consul of Serbia in North Macedonia, Vladimir Stajić, said that he will cover the costs of families whose members are hospitalized in Belgrade and Niš after the accident that happened in Kočani.

“As the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in the Republic of Macedonia, I have decided to cover the costs of the stay of families whose loved ones were injured in the accident in Kočani, hospitalized in hospitals in Niš and Belgrade, in the Republic of Serbia,” Stajić said in a post on the social network Facebook.

Stajić wished a speedy recovery and much strength to everyone going through this ordeal and added that “in these difficult times, it is most important to show solidarity.”

Sorrow in Kočani

Residents of Kočani lit candles for the victims of the fire at the “Pulse” nightclub in the city park until late evening last night. As reported by the media in North Macedonia, sorrow and silence prevailed in Kočani after the tragic event.

The Director of the Health Insurance Fund of Macedonia, Sašo Klekovski, announced on his Facebook profile that more than 140 victims were taken care of.

“44 injured persons were admitted abroad, including 17 to Serbia, 14 to Bulgaria, nine to Turkey, and four to Greece,” Kelkovski wrote and added that eight more injured persons will continue treatment abroad, four in Croatia and four in Romania.

He stated that there is a possibility that some of the injured will be sent for treatment to Slovenia, Hungary, and Austria.

Kelkovski pointed out that the Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health is working at the Clinical Center, in coordination with the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The condition of all patients is monitored and further procedures are decided consultatively. Last night, a team from the Belgrade Military Medical Academy arrived, and we are expecting teams from the Czech Republic, Israel, and Belgium. All the injured are being taken care of as best we can,” Klekovski announced.

In the fire at the Kočani nightclub, 59 people died. According to the latest statement by the Minister of Health of North Macedonia, Arben Taravari, 155 people were injured.  

Among the deceased are members of the band “DNK” who had a concert at the nightclub.
