A 57-year-old man succumbed to his injuries at the General Hospital in Čačak after being seriously injured in a chain-reaction crash on the Miloš Veliki highway.
The General Hospital in Čačak confirmed that all the injured were treated at the facility, with one man, who had been placed in the Intensive Care Unit due to the severity of his injuries, succumbing to his injuries.
“Two women and a man who were also injured in the crash are in stable condition, and further diagnostics are underway,” the General Hospital in Čačak stated.
According to initial information, nine vehicles and a truck were involved in the chain collision, and for now it is not known which vehicle the man who tragically died was in. It is assumed that reduced visibility and heavy traffic may have contributed to the collision, but the exact causes will be known only after the investigation is completed.
Traffic is currently suspended on the section from Lučani toward Požega. Drivers are advised to use the route via Ovčar Banja.
Traffic police officers are on the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
